SYNOPSIS

The film follows Lerato, an orphaned girl who loses both of her parents in a tragic fire. Without her parents to provide for her, she is forced to fend for herself in a world full of faceless adults. Lerato goes in search of food on her own. She finds herself sleeping in an alleyway in a city too busy to care about a recently orphaned girl. We follow her on her search through the day, as she encounters different scenarios. The city seems immense to a young child, she is drawn to a gathering of faceless adults who are amusing themselves by feeding a flock of pigeons - where she is shunned away. Time and time again, throughout the story Lerato is disappointed by the individuals she interacts with. This increases her spiral into despair, to the point where she no longer cares about anything.

This is shown by her mental state deteriorating as she increasingly finds herself in a solitary world bereft of any life that is interspersed with her journey. This world occasionally melds with her reality, her own world of despair.
