ABOUT SHELTER

This is an animation short film aimed at bringing attention to the homeless situation in the world we live in.
The overall film project will work with foundations that work with orphaned children and children living in trauma-filled communities to help bring attention to the situations that many South African children find themselves in. The film is not fun, or light, it's a surrealist tragedy looking at the world through the eyes of an orphaned little girl.
The project aims to bring to light, the art therapy world, and shine a light on the lingering trauma that exists in communities around us. We aim to break assumptions around children we see around the streets as well create tools that will help organisations that work with these kids do their work better.
Another huge aim for the project is to bring young animators into the industry by giving them a chance to work on this film with us. The young creatives will be teamed with industry experts and get “on the job” mentorship while working on the project.
